McDonald's will unveil numerous new products in 2003, including a breakfast entry called McGriddles, a breakfast sandwich made up of pancakes, sausage and syrup, as well as a new line of premium salads. The company also plans to expand on its successful Chicken Flatbread Sandwich product, bring out some new desserts, and test a bacon burger.

It is encouraging to see that McDonald’s isn’t focusing exclusively on price cuts and budget menus, and is actually bringing out some new products.
It also is interesting to see how much Wendy’s, with its moves into non-burger offerings, is setting the tone for the competition among the major fast food chains.
