In Monday’s MNB, we reported that Safeway.com had dropped its delivery fee to $6.95.
The reduction, which is a full-time cut and not just a test, is limited to the Portland, Ore./Vancouver, Wash. Markets. Northern California’s Safeway.com service and Southern California’s Vons.com service are still charging $9.95 for delivery.
Mark Marymee, Safeway’s Director of Public Relations, wrote in to note that “we will, from time to time, offer delivery service for a reduced fee in some markets, but that has been and will continue to be for limited periods of time.”
