- Walgreen Co. reported that revenues were up 17 percent for September, increasing to $2.38 billion, from $2.03 billion in September 2001. Same-store sales, or sales at locations open at least a year, rose 11.8%, the company said. Total pharmacy sales reportedly were up 24 percent, while pharmacy same-store sales rose 18.6 percent. Total prescriptions filled increased 11%.
