Both Publix Super Markets and the Great Atlantic & Pacific Tea Company have announced that they are voluntarily recalling fresh ground beef as a result of an expanded recall by Emmpak Foods.
Emmpak recalled 416,000 pounds of ground beef because of E. coli concerns, then expanded the recall to another 2.3 million pounds of ground beef.
While some E. coli-related illnesses have been reported in numerous areas, it has not yet been determined whether they are related to the Emmpak ground beef.
