Swifty Serve, the north Carolina-based c-store chain, reportedly has filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy protection, and is closing its 600 stores and gas stations, many of which already had run out of gasoline.

The company will be liquidated under the current plan. One potential buyer of some of the company’s assets is said to be Alimentation Couche-Tard Inc., a Canadian c-store company that has been growing rapidly in the US.
