7-Eleven, which has been planning to roll out “advanced function ATMs’ in 3,500 of its 5,000 US stores, is trimming its ambitions a bit.
The company now plans only to put the machines into stores where it feels the demographics will support broad usage of the “Vcom” machines. It has been led to this decision by what it calls “low transaction volumes” at some of the stores now using the kiosks.
7-Eleven now expects to have between 250-300 Vcoms installed in stores by the end of the year.
