Reuters reports that in Japan, McDonald’s may partner with Krispy Kreme to bring the doughnut franchise to that country.
This is just the latest move by McDonald’s in Japan to bolster its portfolio of offerings to counteract a dangerous plunge in the nation’s hamburger consumption. It recently announced plans to bring Pret A Manger, a British sandwich shop in which it has an interest, to Japan.
For the moment, reports suggest that the Krispy Kreme units will be stand-alone, not located inside McDonald’s.
