- Shaw's Supermarkets Inc., announced the appointment of Paul T. Gannon to be president and CEO, succeeding Ross McLaren, who has retired. Gannon began at Shaw’s as VP of Information Technology Services; most recently, he was president and COO.
Shaw’s is a wholly owned subsidiary of J Sainsbury plc.
- Weis Markets has promoted Dale Horst to be VP of store operations and Lynn Leitzel to be VP of information technology.
- Ocean Spray Cranberries Inc., a grower-owned cooperative, announced that CEO Robert Hawthorne resigned after almost three years at the post. Barbara Thomas, a board member, will act as interim CEO while the coop seeks a new CEO.
- Unilever appointed John W. Rice to be business group president and CEO of Unilever Bestfoods North America. He will continue in his role as CEO of Slim-Fast Worldwide. the weight-management and meal-replacement company acquired by Unilever in 2000.
