Ministers in the European Union have agreed on legislation that would, if approved by the European Parliament, toughen food labeling regulations by requiring that all ingredients be listed, even if they account for less than 25 percent of the final product.

The change to listing sub-ingredients would mean that allergens would be more evident on food labels. If approved, consumers would start seeing changes in food labels in 2005.

And here in the US, it seems that there is resistance to more specific labeling regulations that would include information about allergens, GMOs, etc...
