business news in context, analysis with attitude

CNET News reports that as a result of an agreement between Amazon.com and Borders Books and Music, customers buying books, CDs and DVDs at Amazon’s online store can now pick them up and return them at any one of Borders’ 400 stores.

Amazon already runs Borders’ online store.
KC's View:
Interesting, isn’t it, how Amazon’s future seems so entwined with existing brick and mortar chains, ranging from companies that compete with it (Borders) and non-competitive companies, such as Nordstrom, Toys R Us and Office Depot.

It’s the way the Internet ought to work…not as a venue in a vacuum, but as a strategic element in an overall marketing plan.
