business news in context, analysis with attitude

Borders Group is being sued by a group of consumers for alleged violation of antitrust laws.

The suit apparently is related to Borders’ deal with Amazon.com, which empowers the latter company to run Borders’ online website, and charges that the agreement between the companies violates California statutory law and other provisions.

Amazon is not a target in the suit, however.

Borders management has denied any wrongdoing and said it plans to defend itself “vigorously.”
