  • A new consumer survey from SupermarketGuru.com suggests that Americans believe that McDonald’s is not responsible for America’s overweight problem. While there have been several lawsuits filed in the US charging that fast food chains are responsible for people with weight-related health problems, Phil Lempert's SupermarketGuru.com site recently revealed that more than eight out of 10 Americans do not hold McDonald’s culpable.



  • Albertsons looks to expand its Hispanic format. Published reports say that Albertsons is satisfied enough with the performance of its three Hispanic-oriented Super Saver stores in Southern California that it is now looking for possible locations in Chicago, Florida, Texas, Arizona and New Mexico.



  • PlanetRetail reports that Wal-Mart has sent a delegation to Moscow. The Wal-Mart representatives were there at the invitation of Russian retailer Perekryostok. No further details were available.
