  • GlobalNetXchange (GNX), the business-to-business marketplace for the global retail industry, announced that total transaction volume for 2002 exceeded 6,600 transactions valued at approximately $US 5.1 billion. In the fourth quarter ending December 31, 2002, members of the exchange conducted over 2,200 auctions worth over $US 2 billion. In December, the company had its single largest month ever, seeing auction volume exceed $US 1 billion. Since inception, members of GNX have conducted over 9,500 auctions valued at approximately $US 7.5 billion.


  • In the UK, Tesco posted a 4.8 percent increase in same-store sales for the seven weeks to January 4, with total sales for the period up 11.1 percent. International sales were up 24.9 percent.
