  • Fleming Cos. cut its fourth-quarter profit estimate, saying that earnings from continuing operations, its wholesale distribution business, in the quarter ended Dec. 28 would be between 10 cents a share and 12 cents a share., well below previous estimates of 31 cents a share and below last year’s 19 cents during the same period. The company blamed eroded profit margins and price deflation for its troubles, plus the various travails of Kmart.
