business news in context, analysis with attitude

The Dallas Morning News reports on the growth of fast-casual restaurants in that market. Fast-casual restaurants are the fastest growing segment of the restaurant business, a hybrid of casual dining and fast food that seems to be answering the need of diners for reasonable prices, quick service, and healthy food.

Among the chains exploiting this trend are Tin Star, Pei Wei Diner, Café Express, Corner Bakery and Chipotle.
