Spartan Stores Inc. , named Craig C. Sturken as the company’s president and chief executive, replacing James B. Meyer.
Sturken was chief executive of Great Atlantic & Pacific Tea Co.'s Atlantic and Midwest regions.
Meyer, who also serves as chairman, announced last October that he planned to retire this year.
