A&P reportedly is testing a 400-sq.-ft. “Everything For 98 cents” dollar store-style section in one of its newest Food Basics stores, selling items that include baby toys, kitchen utensils and party goods.

- Makes sense. As the dollar store format grows, testing concepts like these takes advantage of the trend. A&P has the advantage of knowing that it is consistent with the low-cost Food basics approach.
