- Target Corporation posted net retail sales for the four weeks ended March 1, 2003, that were up 6.4 percent to $2.926 billion, from $2.750 billion for the same period a year earlier. Same-store sales were off 1.4 percent.
- Family Dollar Stores posted February same- store sales that were up 2.8 percent, despite the winter storms that hurt many of the nation’s retailers. Total sales rose 13.7 percent to about $1.26 billion from $1.11 billion.
- Sales at Staples.com reached $450 million in the fourth quarter, or 13.6 percent of the entire company’s total Q4 sales of $3.3 billion. For the full year, it reported $1.6 billion in e-commerce sales, or 13.8% of total sales of $11.6 billion.
