Dow Jones reports that the judge overseeing Kmart’s bankruptcy has denied the company’s request to be given more time to market and sell leases of stores that it is closing this year.

Kmart is required to sell the leases by November 25, but wanted a 270-day extension because it has had trouble finding buyers.

The company is hoping to emerge from bankruptcy by the end of next month.
