Dow Jones reports this morning that John Lovering, who has made a bid to acquire Somerfield Plc in the UK, is talking to Sainsbury about selling it as many as 150 stores if his acquisition move is successful.
Sainsbury, of course, is one of five retailing entities in the UK interested in acquiring Safeway Plc there, though this discussion seems unrelated to that scenario.
