The Los Angeles Times reports this morning that Ralphs Grocery Co. has signed a lease to build a 50,000 sq. ft. unit in the downtown area, the "first mainstream supermarket in the central city in decades."
The building, scheduled to be opened in 2005, is part of an enormous residential and retail project being developed near the Stapes Center there. It is slated to include parking garages below and behind the store, as well as five floors of apartments above the unit.
