Caribou Coffee, the nation’s second largest specialty coffee company, and Coca-Cola North America announced yesterday that they will together launch a new line of premium ready-to-drink iced coffees next summer, the third such arrangement between the two companies.
Michael Coles, Caribou’s chairman/CEO, said that this brand extension will allow the company to extend into the ready-to-drink category – which will, of course, also allow it to compete more effectively with Starbucks, which has partnered with PepsiCo in the ready-to-drink segment.
