business news in context, analysis with attitude

• Albertsons LLC said last week that its relaunched website,, has been retooled to include detailed product recall information in a new Consumer Information Center, as well as comprehensive health and nutrition information provided by Healthnotes. The latter section, according to the company, is called “Health Matters” and it offers “breaking news about health and diet, information about vitamins, minerals and supplements, explores various diet plans, (and) finds tasty, heart-healthy meal recipes.”
KC's View:
Increasingly, the Internet is where the modern consumer turns first to find information – before newspapers and magazines, before radio and television, before phone books and other guides. It makes sense for retailers to be the first, best point of contact and source of reliable information for the consumer.

Full disclosure: Healthnotes, which is providing consumer information on the Albertsons site, has been a sponsor of MNB…though we don’t feel that should preclude the company from being written about when we think it is newsworthy.
