Reuters reports that Amazon-owned Whole Foods is being sued by employees accusing the retailer "of punishing workers who wear 'Black Lives Matter' face masks on the job.

"The 14 plaintiffs in the proposed nationwide class action accused Whole Foods … of sending workers home without pay or imposing disciplinary actions for wearing the masks and related apparel."

While Whole Foods maintains that the masks violate its dress code, which prohibits slogans and logos on apparel, the suit charges that this is selective enforcement.

KC's View:

Hard for me to be sympathetic to Whole Foods on this … the decision seems off-brand ands tone-deaf.  In fact, I'm surprised that the company hasn't pulled a Starbucks-like reversal and found a way to be more woke about this.
